It features Evelyn Happ, a female engineer who gets a chance to prove her mettle when she joins the WAVES. Her first serious assignment puts her in a male-dominated unit where she meets Mark Miller, a fellow scientist. Each of them have reservations about working together, but through Mark, Evelyn begins to learn about love, family, and the greatest love of all.

Moving Mountains by Staci Stallings - Contemporary Romance

I found this story an enlightening look into the longterm effects of trauma in children. The author infuses enough light throughout to keep it from being depressing. Pete and Abby both experienced cruel circumstances as children, so Pete understands how difficult it is for Abby to overcome the residual feelings that prevent her from trusting and loving completely. He determines to stay with her and help her overcome her demons.

An Uncertain Road by Abbey Downey - Historical Romance

This early 20th century romance revolves around the racing world and two characters with divergent opinions about the auto industry. Despite losing her husband during a race, Flora is excited to enter a ten-day race to help boost her brother's career.
