Here's a heart-pounding, eye-opening story about the hardships many of our forebears endured to ensure our freedom to worship as we choose. As intense as the struggle between Christians and other religions, it may seem even more so when there's persecution and trouble between factions of Christianity. This book (and the others in the series) will give each reader an appreciation for the stalwart preachers and believers who paved the way for us to worship and share the gospel freely.

If you think the Regency Period was an idyllic time with only dances and drives in the park, this book will give you a broader view. With political intrigue and characters from the shadier side of London, Ms. Vetsch weaves a compelling story that will keep you wondering what will happen next and who isn't exactly who they profess to be. Not everyone in this case is a member of the nobility, but each character is realistic and true to the period. I had a particular interest in reading this book because it is based on my hometown, and I knew of the author because of his previous local renown. For those who read mostly commercial/genre fiction, be aware that this book is written in a literary style, although there's an air of mystery from the start. While it seems at first to be a series of stories about various residents of the town, later it becomes clear how they are interconnected as the mystery is revealed. It contains some beautiful and provoking lines to carry with you. Note: This book is not currently included in Kindle Unlimited, but should be easy to locate through inter-library loans.
